I recently sat down with Damian Shiels and Brendan Hamilton of Irish in the American Civil War for a one hour talk on the 69th New York State Militia at First Bull Run (some of you will remember Damian from our Bull Runnings tour In the Footsteps of the 69th New York State Militia at First Bull Run). I’m sure most of you have visited Irish in the American Civil War. It’s a wonderful repository of all manner of information on, well, Irish in the American Civil War. Damian has been a Friend of Bull Runnings (FOBR) for many years, and I thank him for the opportunity to yak at the lads’ mugs on Zoom for what didn’t seem like anywhere near as long as we did.
