Bull Runnings 
Hello. I am fascinated by this site, even if your main interest is eastern theater.
I have just finished a book (that feels good to say) “Always in the Middle of the Battle” and appreciate your interest. Are there any tips you can give me concerning speaking engagements. Public speaking is not new to me, it has just been a while, ie; now to get them, length of presentation, which of the five battles to emphasise (Grants western theater plus Atlanta, which is my favorite).

David – if I knew the secret to getting gigs, I’d be using it myself. I really don’t receive many requests to speak, though I really enjoy it and am happy whenever anyone is interested enough in what I do to ask me to drop by and address their group.
In general, it seems most groups want you to keep your presentaiton to around 45 minutes to an hour. As for subject matter, you gotta go with what interests you the most, and within that tailor it to the group you’re addressing (if possible).
My “main” interest here is First Bull Run, but any theater is open for discussion.
