Letters from Wheat’s Battalion

Stuart Salling has posted these letters from a member of Wheat’s Battalion written before and just after the battle.

Stuart has given me the go-ahead to post these letters to the Bull Run Resources section, which I’ll be doing soon. In the meantime, check them out on the Louisiana in the Civil War site.

Hi Harry! This year is 1860 and next year is 1861. What plans do you have for 150th anniversary of Manassas/Bull Run? Rea Andrew Redd, Civil War Librarian.

Rea, at this point I have no specific plans for the anniversary. I do need to get around to submitting my application for membership to the SUVCW – their national encampment for 2011 is scheduled for Manassas, I think.
