Coming Up…Springfield, IL

I just got back from a long weekend in Springfield, IL.  My family was (were, if you’re British) nice enough to treat me to the trip for my upcoming birthday.  We saw a lot of stuff and, believe it or not, two days was just not enough time to see everything we wanted.  I took about 250 pictures, and while I don’t intend on subjecting you to all of them, I plan to write a series of posts over the next week or two that will be illustrated to an altogether fitting and proper extent.

I look forward to seeing the pics and hearing about your trip. I made an unexpected stop at the Lincoln Home just today…but then again I only live about an hour and a half from Springfield.

Looking forward to your reactions to what you’ve seen. I’ve done Springfield 3 times. The first was with my family and the two subsequent trips were with people from the chatroom. So much to see and do in soaking up all the Lincoln lore. What did you think of the GHOST in the museum? ;) Pretty cool.

I have been through all of the Museum but that one part. I was not able to stay long enough to see the ghost…but the next chance I have I am heading back to see it.
