I’ve always been fascinated by E.P. Alexander’s account of going up in his Confederate balloon during the Seven Days Campaign. Seeing the Battle of Gaines’s Mill from that perspective must have really been something.

Not many details available, other than this synopsis: “During a cross-country balloon race, 2 aeronauts become entangled in the start of the Civil War.”
