Very neat and interesting.

I've always been fascinated by E.P. Alexander's account of going up in his Confederate balloon during the Seven Days Campaign. Seeing the Battle of Gaines's Mill from that perspective must have really been something.

I was able to find references to a 3 part Disney Wonderful World of Color, "High Flying Spy" starring Darren McGavin, Vincent van Patten, and Stuart Whitmore as Lowe. 1972. Not many details available, other than this synopsis: "During a cross-country balloon race, 2 aeronauts become entangled in the start of the Civil War."

As an aside, Harry do you remember the movie about Thad Lowe & the balloons? For some reason, I think it was a Wonderful World of Disney movie, though that might not be the case.
