He was ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS unfailingly kind and patient. He was a great historian and an even better person. He always answered e-mails quickly, and with the answer to my question. Always had time to talk about my project, or anyone else’s for that mater, and ready to lend his expertise. AHEC will not the the same without him. As a Trans-Mississippi historian, there aren’t too many of us, and Art was one of the best. He will be sorely missed. My sincerest condolences to his family.
