About
Hello! I’m Harry Smeltzer and welcome to Bull Runnings, where you'll find my digital history project on the First Battle of Bull Run which is organized under the Bull Run Resources section. I'll also post my thoughts on the processes behind the project and commentary on the campaign, but pretty much all things Civil War are fair game. You'll only find musings on my “real job” or my personal life when they relate to this project. My mother always told me "never discuss politics or religion in mixed company”, and that's sound advice where current events are concerned.
The Project
This site is more than a blog. Bull Runnings also hosts digitized material pertaining to First Bull Run. In the Bull Run Resources link in the masthead and also listed below are links to Orders of Battle, After Action Reports, Official Correspondence, Biographical Sketches, Diaries, Letters, Memoirs, Newspaper Accounts and much, much more. Take some time to surf thourgh the material. This is a work in process with no end in sight, so check back often!

Not to mention if I were writing, I’d have to discuss all the nifty cannons at Fort Pulaski!
That reminds me… I have some photos of the some of the cannons I saw while down there. Should probably put them on a disc (considering the obvious situation with dial-up) and send them to you to generate a Savannah cannons post on your blog.

Sorry about that – I should know better than to post when exhausted. I have no idea how I could confuse the two of you, since one of you is so much cooler than the other.
You must be referring to Robert then… because I’m hotter than a Paula Dean pie fresh from the oven! (Trying to stick to the Savannah theme here, and figured also you’ll get a few more of those incidental Google search hits.)
Leave it to Craig and his SEO efforts… you’ll be getting all sorts of new blog surfers soon, but they’ll be looking for recipes for Civil War era Apple Pies! What’s that??? Paula has a new cookbook???!!! There, that should help ramp things up a little more…

Gee, Harry, you must still be in need a good night’s rest. You corrected the first part of your post, but your still thanking Craig at the end. Hey, but I’m willing to share credit since I link so much to HMDB in the Savannah post. :-)
