My combined strenth and losses informations runs to 99 pages in word. One of my first priorities is to post that as a page on the Chickamaugablog. The information found in Maps of Chickamauga is derived from that, but there was no room to do the full, annotated version in the book. Think of the blog as an extended set of appendicies for the book(s).

I think it will be all that you want it to be. Sources are footnoted, descrepancies are noted, etc. Gun types and numbers are included. A wargamer’s wet dream, so to speak.

I’d definitely be interested in the gun types being posted at your web site and/or at Dave’s blog. It sounds like Dave plans to post all of the unit strengths, tube types/numbers anyway, so I’m GREATLY looking forward to that!

I am sure the strengths and losses are shown for Chickamauga (not for Tullahoma), but gun type is not set forth. I am sure we could put that online for purists/gamers who would want that. Wait until you see this one. It is simply amazing. For the first time I actually understand Chickamauga.

I am currently playing the 2 day campaign of David’s design for Dean Essig’s RSS series of This Terrible Sound.

It’s only 9:15am on the 19th and Jay’s Mill has turned quite bloody while the 20th Corps is on the move eastward as well.

Dave’s site is a welcome one, for sure!

Thanks for this. And indeed Powell’s new blog will be a good one.

We are reviewing the printer proofs for “The Maps of Chickamauga,” by Dave Powell and David Friedrichs (cartogrtaphy) now. It is a stunning volume (336 pages, 128 full page full color maps, orders of battle (includes Tullahoma), notes, biblio., and index). We are certainly pleased to produce it for readers.
