Thanks for the tips. Getting the program into iTunes is a simple as clicking and dragging a desktop icon. Getting that icon into the “Podcast” directory of iTunes has proven difficult – I guess everything you drag into iTunes goes to the “Music” directory. I suppose I could create a “Civil War Network” playlist, though…

I checked on my Vista, and here’s what you should do to make iTunes play the program.

1. Download the mp3 file to your computer.
2. Right click on the file.
3. Mouse over “Open With…”
4. Left click on “Choose Default Program”
5. Choose iTunes, but if you do not want it to ALWAYS open mp3s, make sure you uncheck “Always use the selected program to run this type of file”

That should be it!

LOL on the “picking up chicks” comment. My girlfriend starts rolling her eyes any time I start talking about the Civil War. Maybe she’ll come around eventually!

In all seriousness though, great job on the interview. The Civil War Network looks like it will be a nice addition to Civil War Talk Radio. I like the shorter interview format. It differentiates this podcast from CWTR.

I have Vista at home. I’ll try to help you out on the technical details. I’ve been doing that with Civil War Talk Radio for several years now. Basically you just have to set it up so that mp3 files are played by iTunes by default. That’s the easiest way.

My bad. Listened to it late last night, and should know better. :) Enjoyed the interview.

Just listened to it, and thought it was top notch listen for those interested in the Civil War. Will just add that you can hear the program at the web site for those who don’t wish to download it.

An excellent addition to the learning of the CW on the net, and I encourage all to check it out.
